The Path To Successful Change

The world around us has become polarized due to our societal and governmental differences. Most populations within organizations are made up of employees from varied backgrounds and experiences. The competition in most industries is so fierce, the pace of change has led to organizational fatigue. 

As a leader in this dynamic environment, many of you feel there is little or no time to rest. You must motivate the organization to quickly adapt to the new demands driven by consumers or competitors.

There are numerous change management models that are successful or have been in the past. However, for where most environments are today, we at CRG believe in four development phases of organization capability. The four phases are:

Shared Mindset- Everyone on the same page as to what the future state should look like, the need for change and how we get to that state. 

Sense of Urgency- The change initiative becomes job one. It is time sensitive and requires immediate attention. Everyone must take advantage of the opportunity before it is lost.

Teamwork- Trust in leadership and each other to take the journey together. Ability to work across organizational boundaries. Demonstration of decisiveness, problem solving and communication skills in high stress situations. 

Agility- Demonstrated ability to think and understand quickly where it speeds your adaptation to the changing circumstances. However, we at CRG consider teamwork a prerequisite to agility in order for the organization to demonstrate the capability. 

These four phases of capability development positions your organization to successfully change when faced with global shocks such as the one created by the pandemic or market disruptions from competitors. Remember, as a leader in your organization, you must collectively move a group of employees toward a common goal at a speed sufficient to ensure not missing the opportunity.
